Meg’s Blog: Economy For New Players

For new players, Arrival Alley will offer a microcosm of the economy. Malcolm Campbell will give players a blueprint for these Tropical Shades and show them how to use a crafting station. To create the sunglasses from this blueprint, though, every new player will need to engage other NPCs to learn in-game activities in order to gather the required materials. For example, a player will need to gather certain papoo parts for the blueprint, so he’ll access the hunting tutorial mission to learn to hunt papoo.  In another mission, he’ll also learn the difference between refined and unrefined crystals, which will be required knowledge for making the sunglasses. The completion of the starter missions and the ingredients for this blueprint are complementary.

Players will be able to make their Tropical Shades very early in their Next Island experience, so I expect to see new arrivals in starter suits and shades, as well as long-term residents accessorizing their outfits with these new sunglasses.

We hope all island residents will enjoy wearing these shades on the beaches on Next Island!
